On August 19, 1989, Tim and Alicia Gilligan gathered with 35 people in a small hotel conference room for the first service of Ocala Word of Faith Church. Since then, buildings have been built, locations have moved, names have changed and dreams have expanded, but the purpose remains the same: Honor God. Build Believers. Touch Lives.
Today, over 20 years later, what is now known as Meadowbrook Church is a thriving multi-cultural, multi-generational community that invites people to discover God’s plan for their lives and achieve peace on earth. We’ve moved from that hotel room to a rented building, to our own 80 acre property, and finally into the beautiful complex we now call home, including a 2,200 seat sanctuary, a multi-purpose gym, children and youth facilities and administration offices for a staff of nearly 100 hard-working individuals.
With the expansion of our ministry have come more opportunities to share the love of God, including a K5-12th grade academy, a television and internet broadcast, and multiple local and global mission projects. Meadowbrook’s goal is that ministry would not be confined to one service or one building, but that our faith would permeate every area of our lives. After all of these years, we look back with thankfulness. We stand with renewed purpose. And we now push ahead with hope and trust in the continued faithfulness of God.
