Located in the heart of Fayetteville on the courthouse square, First United Methodist Church has been a vital part of the Fayette community since 1848. Our church campus reflects the growth and development of the area, as well as our ongoing commitment to meet the needs of those we serve both within our church walls and beyond. Our campus includes an administrative office (the North Annex) located across the street from the main campus. The main campus houses the Family Life Center, education space for adults and children, and a gymnasium, as well as youth facilities, a chapel and our main sanctuary.
Our current membership is just over 2000. Among those members are young families enjoying the loving support of a church family as they raise their children in the faith; middle-aged adults and empty nesters, who now offer themselves as mentors and seek renewed connections within the church; and senior adults, who enjoy a vibrant fellowship and a shared commitment to active ministry for Christ.
Having played a vital role in this community for so long, our goal as we move into God’s future is simple:
- continue to grow in Christ,
- continue to serve Fayette County and the world;
- continue to nurture disciples of all ages in the love and truth of God;
- continue to reflect in our congregation the community around us.
Who are we? We are the Body of Christ, a United Methodist congregation, a gathering of people offering praise to God and seeking to grow in grace, and we are ready to welcome you into our fellowship.
